Agency Memberships
For all agencies that are responsible for the operation of correctional industries programs in any manner and that are interested in, and subscribe to, the purposes and goals of NCIA. Agency members are entitled to one vote per agency. This category has five levels of membership, based on the number of civilian employees.
Jail Industries and Correctional Institutions Memberships
The Jail Industries and Correctional Institution membership is for prisons and jails that are interested in joining NCIA to support NCIA’s mission regardless of whether a correctional industries program is operating at their institution. This membership category does not replace a Correctional Industries Agency membership; it may be in addition to such at a particular institution. Jail Industries and Correctional Institution members are entitled to one vote per institution.
Individual Memberships
For individuals that are active government employees who work with, supervise or are employed by an entity that uses inmates in a public or privately operated correctional industry, and who support and subscribe to the purposes of NCIA. We also offer memberships for individuals that are non-correctional industries personnel, such as those in non-profit or government sectors. This category does not apply to those in private sector, for-profit. NCIA also offers a membership for individuals that are enrolled in an institution of higher learning or corrections academy that is supportive of NCIA and its goals. The last individual membership category is for individuals who have retired from employment by an entity that uses inmates in a public or privately operated correctional industry, or retired as a vendor selling to such entity and supports the purpose for which the corporation was formed.
Corporate Memberships
For all companies and commercial organizations interested in, and subscribing to, the purposes of NCIA. Corporate members can run for the Corporate Representative seat on the Board of Directors (elected by Corporate and Corporate Plus members). Corporate members are also entitled and encouraged to participate on NCIA’s Corporate Relations Committee.
