W.Va. inmates making protective masks for state amid the coronavirus pandemic

Synopsis: Incarcerated individuals at the Lakin Correctional Center, West Virginia’s prison for women in Mason County, and the Denmar Correctional Center in Pocahontas County have made more than 32,000 protective cloth face coverings amid the coronavirus pandemic. Completing at least 1,000 each day, they were able to provide nearly 8,000 masks to the National Guard, for a statewide collaborative attempt at a sufficient stockpile for West Virginia.
