Synopsis: “It’s critical we take all precautions necessary to minimize the potential risk to the inmate population and staff charged with their care and custody. Due to already existing clothing manufacturing infrastructure, FDC and PRIDE are uniquely situated to respond quickly to the agency’s initial high demand for cloth face coverings," said Department of Corrections Secretary Mark Inch.

Synopsis: The production of the non-medical grade masks began March 31 at Central, Hancock and Pulaski state prisons, where prison industries include sewing factories. Prison industries will produce approximately 85,000 of the masks in an effort to ensure each staff member and offender in the state receives two washable and reusable masks.

Synopsis: Each week, at Corrections Enterprises plants inside various prisons, inmates are turning out 24,000 gallons of disinfectant, 500 hospital gowns, 6,000 surgical-style face masks and other equipment that state officials say will help protect both inmates and staff.
