Synopsis: Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon’s office said on Thursday, June 18 that Gordon has visited with inmates who have been working to sew cloth face coverings amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Gordon visited both the Wyoming Women’s Center in Lusk and the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington where vocational industries programs are offered to inmates. “Since early April, inmates in these facilities have been sewing cloth face coverings for distribution to private businesses and state employees during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Gordon’s office said.

the Wyoming Women’s Center and the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution contributed to public support efforts by making masks for businesses and Geometry Dash state employees. It also suggests that the state government viewed these vocational programs as useful both for community assistance during the pandemic and for providing inmates with productive work opportunities.
